The College of Education figures demonstrate why students need to check the specific programme rather than relying on a single university-wide fee.

For example, the listed 100 Level amount for B.A. (Ed) Hausa is ₦255,887, whereas B.Sc. (Ed) Biology is ₦402,950.

There is also a notable difference in the Spill Over 200L figures, with B.A. (Ed) English listed at ₦108,793.75.

How Much Is Al-Qalam University School Fees for Fresh Students?

For a prospective undergraduate, the most important figure is usually the 100 Level amount.

However, there is no single answer to how much Al-Qalam University school fees cost for fresh students because the amount changes according to the programme.

From the supplied schedule, some examples of 100 Level fees are:

Programme	100 Level Fee
Computer Science	₦402,950
Software Engineering	₦402,950
Cyber Security	₦402,950
Information Technology	₦402,950
Biological Science	₦402,950
Microbiology	₦402,950
Chemistry	₦402,950
Biochemistry	₦402,950
Science Laboratory Technology	₦402,950
Statistics	₦375,950
Physics	₦307,887
Mathematics Science	₦307,887
B.Sc. (Ed) Biology	₦402,950
B.Sc. (Ed) Chemistry	₦307,887
B.A. (Ed) Hausa	₦255,887
B.A. (Ed) Islamic Studies	₦255,887

B.Sc. Political Science	₦350,950
B.Sc. Sociology	₦350,950
B.A. Sharia	₦274,900

These figures come directly from the uploaded schedule.

Therefore, a student should not budget for Al-Qalam University school fees based solely on what another student in a different department pays.

Al-Qalam University School Fees for Returning Students

Returning students should also pay attention to their level.

The supplied schedule shows that the amounts can increase, decrease or remain similar as students move through the programme.

For example, Computer Science is listed as:

100 Level — ₦402,950
200 Level — ₦421,150
300 Level — ₦414,650
400 Level — ₦421,150
Spill Over 200L — ₦232,325
D.E. — ₦428,950.

By contrast, the Social & Management Sciences programmes listed in the document have:

100 Level — ₦350,950
200 Level — ₦349,650
300 Level — ₦343,150
400 Level — ₦369,150
Spill Over 200L — ₦206,325
D.E. — ₦357,450.

This means returning students should not simply use their previous year’s payment as the expected amount.

What Does “Spill Over 200L” Mean?

The fee schedule contains a separate column labelled “Spill Over 200 L.”

This is different from the normal 200 Level fee.

For example, the listed amount for Computer Science under Spill Over 200L is ₦232,325, compared with ₦421,150 for the normal 200 Level column.

Students whose academic status falls under the university’s spill-over category should therefore confirm that they are selecting the correct payment category before generating an invoice.

Do not automatically pay the standard 200 Level amount if your portal identifies you as a spill-over student.

What Does D.E. Mean in the Al-Qalam University Fee Schedule?

The final column in the supplied document is labelled “D.E.”

The document does not expand the abbreviation, so it is better not to assign a meaning to it beyond the label provided.

Students who fall under the D.E. category should select the appropriate category on the university’s payment system and confirm that the amount corresponds with their admission and academic status.

For example:

Computing programmes: ₦428,950
Physics: ₦333,887
Mathematics Science: ₦314,387.50
Social & Management Sciences: ₦357,450
Sharia/Islamic Studies/Arabic/Hausa: ₦281,400.

Does Al-Qalam University School Fees Include Acceptance Fee?

The supplied fee schedule does not provide a separate acceptance-fee figure.

Therefore, it would be misleading to add an acceptance fee to the figures above and present it as though it came from the document.

Students should distinguish between:

the registration/school-fee amount shown in the schedule;
acceptance charges, if applicable;
accommodation charges, if applicable;
other charges that may appear separately on the university portal.

The safest approach is to check the invoice generated for your admission status before making payment.

Does Al-Qalam University School Fees Include Accommodation?

The supplied document does not contain an accommodation or hostel fee table.

As a result, the Al-Qalam University school fees shown above should not automatically be interpreted as including accommodation.

If you require university accommodation, confirm whether a separate hostel payment is applicable and how it is generated.

This is particularly important for new students who are preparing a complete first-year budget.

How to Pay Al-Qalam University School Fees

Al-Qalam University has a Student Information System through which students can handle admission and payment-related activities.

The university’s online system provides options for payment verification, other payments, invoice retrieval and student access. It also states that returning students can log in with their admission number and password, pay their school fees and proceed to course registration.

A general payment process is:

Step 1: Access the university’s student portal

Go to the official Al-Qalam University Student Information System.

Step 2: Log in

Returning students should use the appropriate admission number and password.

Fresh students should complete the required admission and verification steps before proceeding with registration.

Step 3: Check your payment category

Before paying, make sure your:

programme is correct;
level is correct;
academic status is correct;
payment session is correct.

This matters because the Al-Qalam University school fees differ between programmes and levels.

Step 4: Generate or retrieve your invoice

The university’s system provides an invoice-retrieval option and payment-verification facility.

Step 5: Confirm the amount

Compare the amount displayed on your invoice with the appropriate figure in the fee schedule.

If there is a difference, do not blindly pay based on an online article. The invoice generated for your student account should be treated as the amount to verify with the university.

Step 6: Complete payment

Use the payment method made available through the university’s payment system.

Step 7: Confirm payment

After payment, verify the transaction and retain your receipt or payment evidence.

Step 8: Proceed with registration

Once payment has been successfully confirmed, proceed with the applicable course-registration process.

Important: Al-Qalam University’s payment system itself warns students to beware of fraudsters and advises applicants and students to make payments directly rather than handing payment money to strangers or staff.

Important Things to Know Before Paying Al-Qalam University School Fees

There are several mistakes students should avoid when paying Al-Qalam University school fees.

1. Do not pay based on another student’s fee

A Computer Science student and a Hausa student may not have the same fee.

The supplied schedule clearly demonstrates significant differences between programmes.

2. Check your academic level

A 100 Level amount is not necessarily the same as 200, 300 or 400 Level.

3. Check whether you are under the D.E. category

If your admission status places you under D.E., confirm the correct amount before payment.

4. Check the Spill Over category

The document specifically has a separate Spill Over 200L column.

5. Keep your payment receipt

Never discard payment evidence after completing your transaction.

6. Avoid unofficial payment requests

The university’s Student Information System specifically warns against fraud and encourages students to make payments directly.

Conclusion

The main thing prospective and returning students should understand about Al-Qalam University school fees is that there is no single amount that applies to every student.

The supplied schedule shows clear differences between colleges, departments and academic levels. Computing programmes such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cyber Security and Information Technology are listed at ₦402,950 for 100 Level, while several Education and Humanities programmes have lower 100 Level figures.

The Social & Management Sciences programmes are listed at ₦350,950 for 100 Level, while Sharia, Islamic Studies, Arabic and Hausa under the College of Humanities are listed at ₦274,900.

Students should therefore identify their exact course, level and academic category before deciding how much to pay.

Before making payment, verify the amount generated for your student account on Al-Qalam University’s official payment system. Do not send money to an individual simply because they claim to be assisting with registration.

That final verification step can save you from paying the wrong amount, selecting the wrong category or falling victim to a fraudulent payment request.
